Moody Halloween Decor You Can Leave Up All Fall

Halloween is a big deal around here. We’ve had a party every year since we got married. We invite everyone we know and usually have a photo booth. This year, though, the party is on pause while the Merrimore House reno takes up every spare minute. The girls are bummed, but they’re still dressing up. There’s still candy corn mix in every room 🙂
We’re skipping our party — not Halloween. We’re swapping the full-scale production for a little moody fall sprinkled around the house. Our formula is candles + moody art + a crow or two on the bookshelf. Nothing too literal. Well, except for the ghost garland that I bought last year before it sold out (thrilled to see it’s back in stock).
The best part is that none of it screams Halloween. There are no pumpkins with googly eyes and nothing that lights up and cackles when you walk by. (Though, my Pap Pap loved those, ha) It’s more dark academia meets autumn, and if that’s your vibe, you could leave most of it out until spring. Or forever. No judgment here.
