A Very Heritage Holiday: Our New Pottery Barn Kids Collection

The wait is finally over, and I’m so excited to share our Fall and Holiday 2026 collections with Pottery Barn Kids and Pottery Barn Teen. Those nostalgic moments of childhood that make it last in our memories? That’s the feeling we kept coming back to while we were designing — the nineties Christmases we grew up on, the ones on screen and the ones in our own houses. Traditional pieces, the kind that get handed down and turn into somebody else’s story. Gifts that will capture their imagination, and furniture and bedding that set the stage for those little moments they’ll hold onto for years.

This is our fourth collection with Pottery Barn Kids, and it’s the first one we designed to arrive in two acts: the furniture that can go through any season and then the holiday pieces layer right on top of it. We co-designed every piece with the Pottery Barn Kids team, and my focus this round was making sure the furniture could carry a room all on its own — before a single ornament goes up.

One thing to look for: the same turned wood detail runs through the collection. The crib legs, the play table, the easel. You can mix and match from different collections or add a few together and still get that curated, collected look we all love.

The Pieces That Start the Room

The Stacked Ball Upholstered 4-in-1 Convertible Crib is truly a grow-with-them piece that converts from crib to toddler bed to even a full-size bed with the conversion kit. It’s designed to truly be the backdrop of their days, no moment wasted. The Scallop Semi-Flush Mount Light adds that traditional, yet modern feel to any nursery or kid’s room.

The Swivel Glider Recliner (pictured above) is there because anyone who’s done the 3 a.m. shift has opinions about it. It had to be comfortable enough to fall asleep in and pretty enough that you don’t want to move it out the second the baby sleeps through the night.

The Scallop Bed (above) is the piece that will set the tone in any room; the scalloped headboard does all the work. Put plain white bedding on it, and the room still looks finished.

Don’t sleep on the Scallop 7-Drawer Dresser, which comes in three colors: Heritage Walnut (shown above), Heritage White, and Stone Green. Honestly, we can see this going in any bedroom (you have permission to use it in your room too)!

The Play Pieces Worth Leaving Out

Here’s the rule I design by: if it’s out in sight, make it pretty. Kid stuff is out in sight constantly. So we made the play pieces to a furniture standard instead of a toy standard.

The Scallop Play Kitchen is the clearest example. It’s a rich Heritage Walnut color with solid iron hardware — no decals, no primary colors, nothing that dates it to a specific eighteen months of your child’s life. It looks like something you’d find at an estate sale and then argue with your sister about who gets it.

The Activity Play Table has the turned wood legs so it looks right at home in your living room for hours of game play. Plus, if you add the Activity Carts set, any train set or toys have somewhere to live at the end of the day.

The Art Easel is spindle-turned walnut color with a chalkboard on one side and a paper roll on the other—so perfect for under the tree. And the Scallop Tea Cart and Scallop Vanity are pieces we’d have loved to have for our girls’ younger years! Can’t wait to see them in your homes.

Then there’s the basketball hoop. It’s in that Heritage Walnut finish with a spot to make it personalized just for them. It might just be the gift of the season, and it’s the one I’d grab first for the kid on your list who is impossible to shop for.

And Then, the Holiday Layer

This is where the nineties came all the way back. There are nine Chris Loves Julia + Pottery Barn Kids stockings, and they add so much character to your mantel. Green tartan, red velvet, ticking stripe, block-print floral, quilted. Hang them in a row, and it looks like a family that’s been adding one at a time for years. (Our stockings have sold out by October in past years, so get ahead of the rush!)

We have one tree at our house that’s full of memories — wherever we go during the year, I say let’s all pick out an ornament, and now that tree showcases decades of trips. Our Pottery Barn Kids ornaments are made to join a tree like that, not replace it.

There’s something very special about holiday bedding as a kid. Our Holiday Village Organic Cotton Sheet Set (and crib set) is so charming, and pairs with so many traditional holiday colors in your duvet cover of choice. The charming Turned Wood Lamp warms up the room (and yes, the Vintage Rocking Horse Snow Globe will be something you keep for the next generation).

And Now, Pottery Barn Teen

If the Kids pieces are where a room starts, this is where it goes next. We took the turned wood shapes up to teen scale and gave them a new finish: a deep black with the oak grain still showing through it, warmed up with antique brass knobs.

My favorite kids rooms are never “themed.” Instead they lean into a youthful version of moody colors, stacked patterns, and personal pieces that actually reflect the kid living in it. Black furniture is the shortcut to all three. Pair the Turned Wood Bed in Onyx with green gingham ruffled bedding, and it reads sweet. Put the Turned Wood Vanity (coming soon) against a ticking stripe with a scalloped swivel chair and it reads a little bit grown. Same pieces, completely different kid — which is the whole point at this age.

The Turned Wood Dresser and Turned Wood Writing Desk work in a teen’s room now and a guest room later, which is about as much future-proofing as furniture can offer.

Bringing It All Together

The finishes in this collection don’t perfectly match, and we meant that as the whole design argument. Heritage Walnut, Onyx, sage green, brass, ticking stripe, tartan, velvet — they hold together because they’re speaking the same language, not because they’re coordinated. If you take one thing from this collection into a room you already have, let it be that: stay true to the feeling, and stop trying to match.

We started a tradition around eleven years ago where we had an advent calendar to count down to Christmas — my own version of the one my uncle sent me. That’s really what all of this is. Not recreating a childhood exactly, but building the parts worth keeping into a house where kids are doing it for the first time.

The best part is, we could see so many of these pieces making their way into our lake house too. The whimsy doesn’t have to end just because we’re growing up!

I hope you love these collections as much as we do. Every piece was created with intention, so they can be enjoyed and passed down for generations. Now the question is…which one are you eyeing first?
