Making Space for What’s Next

Home organization is one of those evergreen habits that always feels great, but this time of year, it feels almost necessary. I won’t lie, 2025 was a bit of a doozy (just me?) After a restorative few weeks off for the holidays, I’ve since been on a major purging and organizing spree lately. When this sudden urge strikes, I truly believe it’s my way of creating space for what’s next. Letting go of what’s kept me stuck so that I can invite in new possibilities. New energies. As we step into 2026, the urge to embrace home organization isn’t just about a tidy closet or a neat pantry; it’s about creating space of all varieties.

I’ve been opening drawers, closets, and even digital folders I haven’t touched in years and it feels so darn good to tidy things up, file things away, and let so much stuff go. A professional organizer will often tell you to start with zones that drain you most. Your desktop, your entryway, junk drawers, overstuffed closets… And make sure to celebrate the tiny wins as you go. So I’m doing just that!
Here are a few things I’m loving right now:
• Baskets and bins that make sense (no chaos behind the pretty)
• Seasonal wardrobe swaps that keep closets crisp
• Quiet corners cleared for creativity
• Labels, boxes and cute catchalls (I like finding unique ones at thrift stores!) – my very best friends at the moment
Let 2026 be the year we all feel lighter at home.
